Wilderness Trail Rod Run

In partnership with the Kingsport Antique & Rod Club, the Rod Run will showcase a wide variety of cars. The event takes place on Main Street. The awards will be given out at 8:00 pm. It will include live entertainment, door prizes, special awards, games, and it’s all free. More info available at www.wildernesstrailrodrun.com.

Twilight Alive Summer Concert Series (7:00 pm – 11:00 pm)

July 4th (Celebrated on July 3, 2010) Downtown Celebration and Fireworks Concerts and Fireworks will highlight the day as we celebrate the birth of our nation. Crowds in excess of 30,000 have experienced one of the biggest and most extravagent celebrations in the region. This year will see a larger and longer Fireworks show.  The Members and Board of the Downtown Kingsport Association invite the whole region to visit this spectacular event with friends and family.

July 16, 2010 Mardi Gras (11:45-6:00)
Beads, beads and more beads! Mardi Gras is the kick-off event for Fun Fest. This is a day full of activities, food, entertainment and lots of fun. Merchants can participate by being designated as a bead station and through the window and lobby decorating contests.

Tomato Fest (9:00-11:00 am)
DKA partners with the Southern Appalachian Plant Society (SAPS) for this fun event with tomatoes! There are contests for the largest tomato, best tasting tomato, strangest tomato, etc. The event takes place in Glen Bruce Park.

Broad Street Cruise-In (2:00-8:00)
DKA partners with the Fraternal Order of Police to plan this fun event to show off your classic car. The event takes place on Main Street, Broad Street and Citizen’s Bank Parking Lot.

Fall 2010 Evening with the Arts (7:00 pm-11:30 pm)
Evening with the Arts is the opening night reception, which features original artwork by local artists. The artwork will be on display in the Main Arts Center (DKA Gallery) and in Gallery II. This exciting event will be celebrated with food, wine and musicians. We have partnered with the Children’s Miracle Network again to make this event a fundraiser for them as well as DKA.

Sept. 11-13 Rail Grass - Fall with the Rail Grass Ribs Cookoff
The Downtown Kingsport Merchants, Businesses and Restaurants invite you to Downtown Kingsport's 2nd annual Rail Grass. Join us Downtown!

Railgrass Photo Exhibit and Downtown Kingsport
In conjuction with Fall for Downtown Festivities the Railgrass Photo Exhibit will be open 6 pm till 10 pm September 11-13. It's inside the Gem Theatre, home of DKA, 140 W. Main Street.

City Employee Picnic (11:00-1:00)
First Kingsport Credit Union to host the Annual City Employee Picnic at Glen Bruce Park. Employees are provided lunch and entertainment. This picnic is a wonderful way to recognize the valuable services provided by our city employees and shows our appreciation for their assistance in improving our community.

Neil Danehy Golf Classic
This annual golf tournament is held at a Crockett Ridge Golf Course and keeps players coming back year after year. It is a fun day of fellowship and friendly competition. The money raised is given to a fund to support area college students pursuing a business degree to honor the memory of Neil Danehy.

DKA's Annual Dinner (6:00)
The Annual Dinner and Silent Auction is one of DKA’s major fundraisers. There are always lots of unique items to bid on. Awards are given to volunteers for their wonderful service throughout the year. This is a fantastic night to celebrate the holiday season with friends and family of DKA.

December 3, 2010  Merchants Open House

DKA invites everyone to visit the merchants in downtown Kingsport during the Merchants Open House. The merchants will be beautifully decorated for Christmas and will have lots of goodies available. Tour downtown with a Christmas Carriage Ride. This event coincides with the Tree Lighting Ceremony and the Gingerbread House Exhibit.

December 3, 2010 Tree Lighting Ceremony (6:45 pm)
DKA kicks off the Christmas season with a Tree Lighting Ceremony in Church Circle. This event coincides with the Merchants Open House and the Gingerbread House Exhibit.

December 3, 2010 Gingerbread House Exhibit
A holiday Gingerbread House Contest is fun for all ages. The houses are on display in the lobby of Regions Bank throughout the holiday season. This event coincides with the Merchants Open House and the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Every Friday Coffee Talk Radio Show (8:30-9:30 am)
WKPT 1400 AM broadcasts live from DKA merchants. This is a talk show with Larry Crawford as the host. Larry talks to local merchants about their businesses. DKA also gives away door prizes.
