Kingsport’s Centennial Signature Events

We’re Ready To Celebrate – Are You?

Kingsport is unique. In fact, there’s only one Kingsport in the entire United States. She’s special as our parents and grandparents, and even great-grandparents, have worked to make sure we progress as a city and continue to be the best place to be.
In 2017, there will be 4 centennial signature events. Below is a brief description of each one. Make sure you save the date!
We’ll kick off the centennial in style with a New Year’s Eve party in downtown Kingsport. With a DJ playing your favorite tunes and Josh Smith from WJHL as your emcee, it’s sure to be a fun time!
March 2 is Kingsport’s date of incorporation so we’re throwing a big birthday party at the Farmers Market. We also are celebrating those who turn 100 with Kingsport.
On July 4, we’re taking our normal July 4th event to the next level. It’s called Kingsport Pops. While it can mean fireworks, it really means that the Symphony of the Mountains will be joining us!
Our culminating event will be Friday, November 17. It is the Centennial Park Celebration. The park is our gift we leave to the city and our children.  We will be unveiling the Santa Train sculpture and burying a time capsule to commemorate the centennial year.

Be a part of the celebration…..and share that COMMUNITY SPIRIT we are known for.
