United Way Crisis Response to Sevier County Fires

As you may be aware, Sevier County is currently experiencing a number of fires. This is an active and evolving disaster, and we do not yet know the full extent of the effect.

Many of you have asked how you can help. The American Red Cross is organizing disaster relief efforts across the region. As they are very experienced in addressing these types of situations, our United Way and others are asking people to contribute to the Red Cross. Donors can make a $10 donation by texting REDCROSS to 90999. You can also write a check to your area Red Cross (Kingsport Red Cross address: 660 Eastern Star Rd, Kingsport, TN 37663) with “Sevier County/Gatlinburg Fires” in the memo line. Lastly, you can call 1-800-RED-CROSS to make a donation.

The Red Cross currently is unable to establish one location to receive donations of supplies, as the situation continues to develop. They ask that you make a monetary donation to benefit all affected.

Thank you to all who have reached out asking how they can help. Please feel free to forward this information to anyone who may benefit from it.
